A Suitcased Designed Inspired By The Fighting Spirit of Vietnamese People
DESIGN STORY:
CHAMPIONS | FIGHTING | VICTORY
2019 was the year of football in Vietnam. For the first time ever, the U23 National Football team gained many achievements with their participation in different tournaments. It was the time to celebrate. "The Football Waves/Storms were such national events, in which people and tourists would join each others in celebration.
To celebrate such events, the idea of a special suitcase began to nurture. The design would be special and customized to be sponsored gifts to the National Football team.
DESIGN PROCESS:
BULLETS | FLAG | MASCULINE
The inspiration came from the shape of bullets. The overall look of the suitcase should be masculine. The pantone was based on the design of the Vietnamese national flag.
The special details of the designed were the metal parts with the color red over each corner. The star in the middle of the front was a golden petal attached to the plastic body.

PROTOTYPE vs. FINAL MODEL
The design process of Rovigo Champions was challenging. Mostly, the problem came from the different use of materials. The colors red on plastic would look different to the red on metals. The red on different types of platic would look different too.
The first prototype's colors differed a lot from the rendered version. After many stages of adjusting the color mixing combination, the final model came to live, although not as close to the original design idea, it was a journey researching and working, learning a lot about material with this project.
